Rachael Madallena,
Senior Instructor, Thai Bodywork Practitioner

Rachael is certified in
Pilates technique and dance conditioning from
Orange Coast College's AA. Certification
Program, and holds a certification from
Infinite Dynamics Pilates and Gyrotonic Studio
for movement re-education under Christine
Wilson, RN. She has studied Thai Holistic
Bodywork at the Ayodha Center in Pomona
California. As a physical theater artist and a
choreographer she has collaborated with
companies including The Arden2 Society for the
Promotion of International Theater, The
Pittsburg New Music Ensemble, and the Beverly
Hills International Music Festival. Rachael is
happy to be back home in Bellingham! |
Robin de Leuw,
Associate Instructor

Robin is a Pacific Northwest native and has lived
in Bellingham for several years. While
attending Western Washington University she was
involved with Muay Thai kick boxing both actively
and as a teacher. After graduation, she wanted to
be involved in fitness and recreation in any way
she could. She discovered Pilates and loved it.
With an extensive background in sports and
recreation, she is able to supplement Pilates into
her active lifestyle. She believes Pilates benefits
leisure and recreational activities as well as
work. Robin helps her clients feel good mentally
and physically, and teaches clients how to
incorporate Pilates into their life. Robin is STOTT
Pilates trained and is continuing her Pilates
education on the full range of
equipment. |
Sarah Schermer,
Associate Instructor

Sarah received her BFA in Dance from WWU.
She is active in collaborative community
performance projects and is a member of
Bellingham Repertory Dance. Sarah has taught
Pilates for three years, both on an individual
level and at various gyms around
Bellingham. Sarah is excited to be part
of Team Esteem. Sarah has advanced
training in specialized Pilates exercise for
Osteoporotic clients. As a perpetual student of
the movement arts, and someone who flips
through anatomy books for fun on the weekends,
Sarah is committed to helping her clients find
a joyful, secure, and painless way to move
through their lives.

Erika Olson, Studio
Manager, Founder

Erika is a STOTT Pilates Instructor,
fully certified through the Advanced level of
repertoire. Erika has advanced training as a
Medical Exercise Specialist. She
graduated from California Institute of the Arts
with a BFA in Dance . Erika's background
includes dance instruction as a former member
of Western Washington University's dance
faculty, experience as a Physical Therapy Aide,
and a long time interest in sports and fitness.
Erika's goal is to help each client develop a
relationship with his or her body that leads to
smart choices as a well trained body user.
Erika has been teaching Pilates since
2004.
Erika continues to manage Esteem, though she
has taken her leave of teaching while she
raises her son.

OASIS Physical Therapy, the
practice of Sidney Anderson, PT and Pilates
Instructor, has been offering orthopedic and
sports services in downtown Bellingham since
1996. With over 20 years experience, Sidney
specializes in Physical Therapy for dancers,
pre- and post-natal care, custom orthotics,
osteoporosis care, and posture and
balance/vestibular training. Sidney
incorporates Pilates principles and exercises
in all her work. |
